Photo training in southampton with Kathryn and Lizzie at Marwell southampton

On Saturday 13th we ran a photography workshop here in our southampton studio for Kathryn and Lizzie and we had a real fun day.  Part of what we do is teaching our clients how to overcome obstacles such as shooting through glass or thick wire cages as well as shooting very fast subjects like birds of prey or cars,

Kathryn and Lizzie both had Lumiz Fz50 cameras and both are interested in a possible DSLR upgrade although tbh after seeing what the girls achieved in such a short time I will be surprised if they upgrade, they both took some amazing photos at Marwell and I am particularly fond of the first one which is a Kangaroo with a joey in her pouch, O wait it might be a wallabe :-)

Our photographic courses are all run from our southampton training school and we then go out and about all over hampshire and dorset depending on what you are interested in if you are  looking to do one of our “getting to know your camera” workshops like Kathryn and Lizzie,  We also go to Exbury gardens and Beaulieu Motor Museum depending on your passion and could also go anywhere else that you fancy so let us know,  We also go to the hawk conservancy in Andover although this course does require a little more equipment but it is so much fun, We also do courses that can be changed to suit your needs such as a recent one we ran to photograph the moon or maybe a sunset photography course, either way let us know and we will see what we can do.

Sue and I run several photography workshops in School of photography southampton, and around Hampshire  often teaching people who have never used a DSLR camera and from Now on we have a dedicated set of equipment for you to try out and use, we have a full Nikon camera and lens setup as well as lenses if you have a Nikon or a Canon, this is a great way to see the benefits of a DSLR before committing yourself.

Here are a few from Kathryn and Lizzie

Phil and the tigers Photo workshop in southampton

On sunday 7th we ran a training workshop with one of our Grooms from 2008 Phil and after the normal morning session we headed off to Marwell on what was a freezing cold day but a very sunny day.  After we did our walk around and Phil took some great photos we went to see the tigers,  we waited and waited but nothing so left to see the mearcats, on our way back Phil spotted the Tiger and grabbed a great position, he captured these 2 shooting through thick glass using the techniques  that we had taught him earlier and was delighted, as were we.

Phil had a new Canon 500D which is a great camera and I am pleased to say that he went away with some fantastic images.

Just to remind anybody out there looking to do one of our “getting to know your camera” workshops like Phil,  We also go to Exbury gardens and Beaulieu Motor Museum depending on your passion and could also go anywhere else that you fancy so let us know,  We also go to the hawk conservancy in Andover although this course does require a little more equipment.

Talking of equipment,  Sue and I run several photography workshops in southampton and around Hampshire  often teaching people who have never used a DSLR camera and from Now on we have a dedicated set of equipment for you to try out and use, we have a full Nikon camera and lens setup as well as lenses if you have a Nikon or a Canon, this is a great way to see the benefits of a DSLR before committing yourself.

Here are a couple of Phils photos.

Photography training in Southampton and a Nikon d3

Earlier this week Sue and I ran a training day for one of our 2011 Grooms, Jonathan, When he booked us for his wedding we had a long chat about photography and the fact they were off on Safari for Honeymoon and he asked us advice on the best camera and lens, I jokingly replied “A Nikon D3 of course” we then chatted about the great range of Nikon “starter” DSLR cameras as well as the Canon options, Jonathan decided that he wanted the best and purchased a D3 which although surprised me, it made me very happy,

Jonathan is already a very keen photographer but wanted to learn all about the D3 and getting the best from it, We ran our “getting to know your camera” workshop and had a fab time, after our initial time here at the studio we left for our favorite place Marwell Zoo,

We did process a few on the day but we spent so much time shooting that I had to do these today,  Here are a few of his shots, Although we have a couple of D3’s I am always in awe of this camera and the photos it produces.

Jonathan,  I hope you love these as much as we do, and I look forward to seeing your work from the river next week
