Boudoir workshop with Tim in our southampton training school

On Tuesday we had a great Boudoir workshop with a local photographer Tim Burt,  Tim wanted to move from weddings into the very lucrative Boudoir market and with our intense posing and lighting and editing day we have enabled him to do that.  Tim took some fantastic images of  2 of our 5 regular models Amy and Nikki .

If you would like to see Tims work please take a look at our Boudoir workshop page but please be aware that there is partial nudity on that page.  Boudoir Workshop page.

If you would like to book a Boudoir or any other workshop please see the workshops link above or give Sue & I a call on 02380 767084   our Boudoir workshops can be based around setting up in a studio like ours or working from home we have both options available.

Getting to know your camera with Liz

Yesterday we had an amazing day with one of our 2006 Brides Liz, she had contacted me recently and booked in for a workshop to get to know her Nikon D80 and we were happy to oblige, we offer 2 workshops for this, a morning or afternoon which is mostly studio based or a full day which is half and half and on this one we go out to either the local Zoological park or motor museum or whatever else will suit your passion for photography.

Liz chose Marwell and after an hour or so intense training we headed off for what turned out to be a very fun albeit competitive afternoon :)   I heard from Liz today and she is still smiling now and is delighted with her photo’s as am Sue and I.

I hope you love these too. these are my favorite 6 that Liz edited as part of the afternoon editing.

Jules & Sue x

We just received this lovely message from Liz.

“ Jules & Sue,

Argh! I just looked on your blog before started to write this and couldn’t believe my photos – I’m well impressed, still hard to believe I took them!!

Thanks again for the fabulous workshop day. I never thought I’d be able to take photos like I did yesterday, I really proud of myself – ha ha, though the credit has to be down to the teachers!

I think now I can start using my D80 to it’s (almost) full potential, and I’m banishing that auto mode forever!

Looking forward to our next competitive day out with our cameras !

Love from a happy student x “

Boudoir training with Sam

Last week we had a fantastic day on what is fast becoming our  most popular workshop. Our full day Boudoir workshop which is an intense one 2 one day teaching you all about lighting and posing as well as editing and marketing for boudoir, This workshop was with Sam from Surrey, Sam is a photographer looking to break into the very lucrative Boudoir workshop and from the images Sam took we dont think it will be long before she is very busy.  To see a few of Sams photos take a look at our workshops above and then go to boudoir workshop, her images are a little racey for this page :)

We received this email from Sam. please keep an eye on her website for some great photos real soon.

Jules

Hi Jules and Sue

Just a brief note to thank you very much for yesterday.  It was such an information-packed day, and I’ve got some great images from it. It was lovely that you were prepared to be so open with me about your working practices, and share with me tips and advice that will, I know, save me many many hours and pounds in the future. Sue, you really know which poses are best and how to handle the models, and it has really helped me to better understand what works and what doesnt. I’ve downloaded the images and once I’ve done some editing, will send them over to you.

You were both so friendly and forthcoming, and made yesterday a fabulous experience for me. Last night I was dreaming of posing models and moving lights all night!

I’m sure well speak again soon, but in the meantime, thank you again for making my training day so valuable and fun.

Warmest regards
Sam

Getting to know your camera @ Marwell

One of our most popular workshops is “getting to know your camera” its aimed at people who are looking to improve their photography and maybe have moved or are looking to move to a Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera from there old compact. Today we had a workshop and Sophie and Emma asked if we could do part of the day outside, As both girls had already purchased their cameras Sue suggested Marwell Zoo which is a wonderful place to wander and photograph. Its a great location for a workshop because almost every shot comes with its own problems like shooting through wires or glass so very challenging but so much fun,

Marwell is such a great place and Sue and I made the most of it by taking a few shots ourselves,  we normally only take 1 camera to training days but we had a great time playing with our new cameras as well, you can see our shots on our blog.

Here are a few photos that Sophie and Emma took  throughout our day at Marwell.
