Castelli Thermoflex Leg and Arm Warmers

For the past 6 weeks or so I have been working with my Dermatologist and Bike fit guy trying to eliminate a Cyst which has been a problem for a year or so. One suggestion was to change my bib short/tight brand which I am currently testing but this left me with no long winter tights and I think we all noticed the onset of the colder weather this past couple of weeks. So rather than buy new long bibs before testing is complete I decided on a warmer set of leg and arm warmers.

I already use Castelli nanoflex which are waterproof but not super warm so I looked around and found Castelli Thermoflex Leg and Arm Warmers and thought I would give them a go.

I am 5’9″ and about 12 stone so decided on Large. I like things fairly snug but these need to be easily removed mid ride if the weather changes.

I ordered from Wiggle The leg warmers were £39.60 and the arm warmers £22.00 less a little discount. I actually paid for next day delivery because I had a night ride planned and the weather looked chilly again.  The warmers arrived next day along with my Haribo, well packed and in their trademark Castelli zip lock bags which are super useful in the bike barn. I unwrapped them and tried them on and Large was the perfect choice for me. They felt snug and toastie.

I wore them that night along with a base layer and summer jersey and shorts. My arms and legs were just perfect, the Thermoflex material with its fleecy inside traps a layer of air next to your skin to keep you warm and this really works, Also I never once overheated which was a huge bonus so despite a pretty hard ride they stayed on all ride.

They wash up very well at 40°c and dry super quick as you would expect. My second outing was even colder but again they stood up very well, They are the perfect length for me and the tops are just snug enough to stay up comfortably which is something I have struggled with when using some cheaper brands.

They look great, I chose black with a red logo and accent and I think they will work with most kit colours. One thing for sure is they are a superb addition to my cycling wardrobe and I am very happy with them.

Overall I would give 8/10

They are pricey but great quality.
