Today I am very proud to announce that I have been made an Ambassador for Vankru Performance Cycling. I have been working with, and promoting Vankru since before I started cycling and they have been such an important part of my journey so it is amazing and very special for me to be recognised by Garth and his team.
I am a great believer in promoting the people that have helped me and continue to help me and Vankru do just that with my cycling and have been passionate about it since I started.
It was actually Garth from Vankru who started my Canyon journey too. On my pre-purchase fit he recommended 2 places, GA Cycles, who has since become a good friend of mine, and Canyon who you all know I love to bits. So I have so much to be thankful for.
Vankru Performance Cycling
Garth and Mark work out of a bespoke studio in Lower Upham near Winchester and offer a range of services from bike builds, Nutrition and coaching and the all important bike fitting. All cyclists benefit from being correctly fitted to their bike. Whether you are a racer, mountain biker or commuter, correct fitting is vital for comfort, pain/injury prevention, efficiency and speed. Ideally, you would be fitted before buying a new bike so that you invest in the correct size and type of bike. This is what I did and after 2 years and almost 18,000 miles from scratch, I am so pleased to be pain-free and very comfortable.
I often pop in to see Garth and Mark at Vankru and am always amazed at the attention to detail shown, Garth is like a finely tuned watch maker who notices every single part of your bike, I am pretty sure he could set up 99% of people by eye, a couple of mm here then a few mm there, I just stand in awe watching him. But it’s when your bike is placed on the turbo trainer that the service really comes alive, you are connected to a series of sensors and put through a ride, starting steady and eventually giving it some efforts with lots of tweaking throughout.
The next few months are going to be super exciting with Vankru. I don’t want to give anything away but there are 3 awesome projects coming and I cannot wait to try and review them.
I am also starting coaching with Vankru shortly with a view to racing the TOC (Tour of Cambridgeshire) and that excites me no end.
Well, that’s about it for my big announcement but more as the next few weeks go on. In the meantime, if anyone has any questions about Vankru or bike fitting feel free to give me a shout or of course contact them.
Thank you, Garth and Vankru for recognising the work I do and I look forward very much to working with you over the next few months.
