Another fab Wedding by Jules & Sue

Keith and Helen get married @ Audleys wood Hampshire

On Saturday we joined Keith and Helen for there late October and very sunny wedding at Audleys wood Hamphire which is fast becoming one of our most popular basingstoke wedding venues, We started our day with Helen and the girls for an hour or so preps which was a lot of fun, mostly because the girls were from Liverpool and the ascents were amazing and caused a few laughs.  After we finished we met with Keith who is a Submariner and looked amazing in his uniform, we soon moved into the ceremony which was nice and again beautifully sunny considering the time of year,  Afterwards we headed outside for the sword arch and then a few photos with family and friends and some beautiful portraiture in the amazing gardens and even a sword fight !

We then headed into Dinner and after speeches which were a fun filled hour, the Navy always know how to have fun and today was no different, after the speeches we expected to go into the dancing but Keith and Helen had organised a surprise fire display followed by fireworks which was amazing and the whole wedding party were shocked and pleasantly stunned and we got some fab photos too, after that we danced and Sue and I left.

Thanks to everyone for being such fun, Helen and Keith you are amazing and deserve all the happiness in the world, Chiefy you were great and thanks for keeping me smiling,

Keith, just a quick note to say a great big thank you for your service to our country, its an awesome thing that you and your colleagues do and its very much appreciated by Sue and I.

We had an hour on the lawns for a few family groups and some portraits and then before  dinner we had speeches on the south lawn which was lots of fun and thankfully very sunny,  After dinner we moved onto cake cutting and the first dance which is where Sue and I headed home.

David and Claire get married at Careys Manor

On Sunday we joined David and Claire for our second wedding of the weekend at Careys manor in the New Forest, David and Claire booked us to cover from teh ceremony so just before that we joined David and the boys at Careys Manor for a few arrival shots and a few details and then we captured a few guests arriving before Claire made her entrance from her room and into the ceremony room which was packed to the hilt with their friends and families from all over the world including their home country of Dubai.  After a very moving ceremony thanks mainly to the vows especially Davids we moved out into the sunshine and onto the lawns under the amazing tree’s at Careys.  we had an hour to take a few family groups and a few guest shots and a little portraiture which is exactly what Claire and David wanted from their day. We then moved into dinner which was a BBQ,  after than we had the speeches which again were very emotional, we had 5 speeches, the usual 3 plus Claire’s sister and Claire so it made for a fun hour,  we then just managed to get the first dance in and Sue and I bid our goodbyes.

David and Claire, We had the most amazing fun day with you guys, you made us laugh a lot and cry a little, it truly was a wedding to remember,  have a great honeymoon and a safe trip back to Dubai.

Charlotte and Clint get married at East Horton Golf Club

On Saturday we met with Charlotte and Clint for our third wedding of the weekend and we were so lucky again with the weather,  we started our day with Charlotte at her Dads house for a few relaxed preperation shots and lots of details and then we headed off to Upham to the local pub to meet Clint and the boys having a pre wedding pint. We then wandered down to the church where the heavens opened, but thankfully we were distracted by the amazing DB7 that Clint had arrived in:-)after a nice service we peeked outside and thankfully the rain had stopped and in fact the sun was shinning so everyone had strawerries and pimms  on the grass beside the church whilst we took a few family photographs.  we then headed off to East Horton Golf Club where we took Clint and Charlotte off for a few photographs whilst we waited for everyone to arrive and then did a few relazing guest shots before being called into dinner and speeches.  After dinner we took Clint and Charlotte off in a couple of  golf buggies, well Clint drove like a lunnie !!!  for some great photos and then a few more evening family shots and then into dance.

It was great to spend some time with Charlotte who looked sensational and Clint who has the most amazing blue eyes:-)   hahaha

A great day surrounded by great people including David and Libby who reccomended us, thanks guys x  it was great to once again see so many friends.

ChefGary @ Andy and Issy’s wedding

As you will know if you read Andy and Issy’s recent blog post Our very good friend ChefGary was the chef for their day, As always and when things allow we take some food photographs (its actually one of Sue’s passions) and because we were part of the wedding breakfast we did at Andy and Issy’s wedding.

We met ChefGary just over 4 years ago when he and his lovely wife Karen booked us to photograph their wedding at Careys Manor, you can see a few of their photos here Since then we have remained friends and Gary has cooked for us often, I am about to cook for Gary and Karen but thats a whole different tale:-)

Anyway here are a few photos from the day but if you want to see more of the amazing ChefGary please check out his website here or check out his facbook page here and also his Blog here! If you ever get the chance to try his food I would highly reccomend it:-)

Here are a few shots from the day,  Please note that these were taken during a wedding and NOT setup in any way.

Adrian and Sarah get married at Burcombe manor in Pink !

Well almost pink:-) Pink was definitely a strong theme and it worked very well, I loved all the details and most were hand made which made them all the more special, I expecially loved the pink wellies:-).

Our second wedding this weekend saw us in Wiltshire where we joined Adrian and Sarah for their wedding which started at their local church and ended at Burcombe manor which is in Burcombe nr Salisbury.

We started our day at Sarah’s parents house in a lovely sunny conservatory for some relaxed prep shots, When Sue and I arrived at an earth shattering 09:30 am:-)Sarah was already having her hair and makeup done so we settled in with a few flower shots and ring shots whist listening to Mums parrot chatting away in the background, we had some fun photographing Sarah’s details which were all amazing and especially her pink shoes,  after a couple of hours we left to drive across Salisbury to meet Adrian at the church for a walk across the fields and of course a few church arrival shots.  Soon it was time for Sarah to arrive and arrive she did in style,  She arrived in a beautiful Model T ford which was and is my favourite bridal car of all time, it was a joy to photograph and to follow albeit at 25 MPH:-)

After a wonderful ceremony we did a few quick confetti and car shots and then we headed off towards Burcombe Manor but we had a couple of stops planned en-route,  Initially we had planned to stop at the river for a few shots but on the way to the church Sue and I spotted a field full of beautiful blue Flax seed flowers so we asked Adrian and Sarah if they would mind stopping there too, like every suggestion they agreed * thanks guys * so off we went to the fields, Without a thought Sarah jumped over the rickety old 5 bar gate in her wedding gown and ran across to the flowers, I jumped over too but my favourite and the best shot was taken by Sue from the fence (but don’t tell her that)…….  We then headed off to the river where the local farmer let me use his field to grab a few shots over the river and I am so grateful he did.

We then headed back to Burcombe Manor where we met our pal, Toastmaster Mike Judd who helped us with a few family groups for the afternoon,  after a couple of hours on the lawns we had a storm so whilst the guests headed for the shelter of the marque, Sarah grabbed her Pink Wellies and our brollie and headed off for more fun photos, I swear she is crazy:-) we had so much fun in the rain and I am so pleased she and Adrian wanted to make the most of their day whatever the weather !

We then headed into dinner and speeches and then after dinner a few more friends portraits before the dancing started, first a couple of traditional first dances and then a fun filled barn dance.

It was another fantastic weekend with great parents, great guests and an awesome couple, Thanks guys you were all so much fun and yes I think you might just have made the website:-)

Have an amazing honeymoon and see you soon.

Andy and Issy get married at Northbrook Park

For the first of this weekends 2 weddings we joined Andy and Issy at Northbrook park in Farnham in Surrey on what turned out to be an amazing day,  Sure enough on the trip up as forcast we had a few spots of rain but thankfully it moved across to give us a near perfect day.  We started our day with Issy who was staying at one of the Northbrok “mews” cottages for some lovely relaxed prepersation shots and hair and makeup by our good friend and boudoir MUA Gemma,  We spent an hour or so with Issy and then wandered off to Meet Andy and his brother and Bestman Chris whom we had photographed before as a gift for Mum and Dad so it was all very relaxed and a lot of fun,  We also bumped into 2 of our couples,  Carl and Lucy who’s wedding we shot in January 2010 and they are expecting a baby, Congratulations guys:-) and Karen and Gary who’s wedding we shot way back in 2007 , You all know Gary as Chef Gary of course, and yes Chef Gary was also the chef for Andy and Issy’s wedding and OMG the food was amazing but I will save that for another post or maybe tag it on the end of this one, anyway back to the wedding,  All in all with so many clients, friends and colleauges at this wedding it truly was like home from home.

After a while with Andy and the boys we headed back to Issy and photographed the beautiful dress and I watched her drive off in the Northbrook Merc,  We then headed into a lovely romantic ceremony with a full display from the peacocks and then later into the walled gardens for some drinks and munchies from Chef Gary, we took a few family groups and then went for a wander with Andy and Issy for some amazing portraits around the lake and gounds of Northbrook park, we had the perfect mix of blue skies and sunshine albeit with the threat of rain,   We then wandered back to do a frisbie shot ( Andy and Issy play Ultimate Frisbie ) and then into the wedding breakfast, The food was just as expected amazing and after what seemed like hours eating we had some fun speeches, we then wandered back out for a while whilst we waited for the band to setup for the first dance.

Sue and I had the most amazing day with Andy and Issy and would like to thank the parents for looking after us, Chris, Simon and  Jamie for the most organised group shots ever, Chef Gary for, well for being Chef Gary:-) Carl, Lucy, Karen and Cheffy for reccomending us, Andy and Issy for never saying no and being sooo much fun,  and of course all 110 guests for being so much fun and for making our job so easy.

Northbrook park is a lovely venue and given enough time can make for beautiful photographs, Sue andf I love it there and cant wait to go back later this year.

Enjoy your honeymoon guys

Colour or Black-White what’s your thoughts?

We are very lucky that at every shoot we do we both love most of our images and almost every week one of us will scream “OMG thats my fav ever image”  hahaha we are so fickle!!!  But every once in a while I come across a photograph that we just  love but just cant decide how to present it, we had this problem with a beautiful photograph (my fav photograph ever hahaha) from Alex and Jodie’s recent Gaynes Park wedding.

I was sat on the bed in the cottage waiting for Jodie to finished getting ready when I watched her approach the mirror and adjust her hair, I sprang into life and this amazing photograph (yes I know I am big headed):-) is the result.

I adore it in colour but what do you think ?  please comment below if your interested

Weddings, food, and, well my wasteline :-)

Sue and I are very lucky to do what we do, we consider ourselves fortunate in all aspects of life but we really do when it comes to our work, we really do have the best job in the world and thats down to amazing clients who we love and of course the amazing talented team of people we work with.  Once such team is Red Herring catering, Well Red herring events to give them their official title:-). We met them a couple of years ago at Ash and Jo’s wedding on August first (yep the food was so memorable I remember the date) lol,  Sue and I were instanty impressed by the level of service given by Steve and his team so it was no surprise when the food came out and it was scrummy.

We have also reccomended and worked with Steve and Red Herring Events several times since then and will continue to.  Steve contacted us last month to ask us to take a few photos of some new dishes that they were creating, well we went along a couple of weeks ago and had a fantastic afternoon photographing and of course tasting the amazing dishes,

All I can say is wow,  if you have booked Red Herring Events you are very lucky:-)
