On Saturday we travelled to Bury Court Barn in Bentley to photograph the beautiful wedding of James and Suzie who live just down the road from us. Whilst traveling up Sue and I were chatting about the odd guest missing the wedding because of the Icelandic Volcano but little did we know just how important a guest it was who was going to miss this wedding. When we got to Suzie at the Barns at Bury Court she told us that the Vicar was stranded in Rome and was unable to get back but her next words were “We have an upgrade” with a smile, Yes we have the Bishop !
After an hour or so at Bury Court Barn we traveled just down the road to St James Church in Rowledge where we were greeted by the Bishop, I am pleased to say he was a wonderful chap and looked just amazing in his full gown and hat, I am also pretty sure that he thought I looked amazing too![]()
After the most amazing and at times moving ceremony we headed outside for confetti and then back to Bury Court for our photos and drinks in the wonderful gardens, we were blessed with great weather and 170 wonderful guests so had the perfect Bury Court Barn Wedding.
During the very funny and emotional speeches James the Groom read out a poem that he had composed for Suzie and then got a standing ovation, well deserved !
Later in the evening after a very scrummy wedding breakfast cooked and expertly served by Jacaranda (thanks guys) we moved into the evening with “face in the crowd” a live band who were incredible and continued to dance long into the night.
Thanks guys for looking after us.
Jules
