Well after a lot of soul searching and chatting over the past few months, Sue & I decided to move to the dark side, well actually the black side as its affectionally known, (black lenses as apposed to white) yes we have moved from Canon to Nikon cameras and I must say we are delighted. After years of shooting with Canon pro cameras and pro lenses it was not an easy decision but once we started to look into it was the correct one for both us and you, our clients. It all started when Sue and I ran a “getting to know your camera” workshop back in January and one of our Brides Dad’s Henry brought along his new D700 and after a morning teaching Henry a few tricks I fell in love.
Shortly after that I spoke to Nikon about their pro range and about a month ago I was directed to Colin Inglis a business 2 business manager who turned out to be my newest latest hero, Colin lent us a few cameras and held our hand all the way through the testing and eventual swap over which took place a week or so ago. Sue and I were invited up to Nikon HQ to pick up our new cameras where we met Rob MacNeice who is an Nikon Professional Service (NPS) Support chap who was a great help with the change and has been ever since.
We shot our first wedding with a dual system to ensure we felt comfortable but after just one wedding the photos were amazing and since then we have shot a couple of engagement shoots and a couple of portraits and its fairly safe to say that we both love our new Nikons. I do still have 1 more lens to purchase which I fell in love with a long while ago, its the Nikon 200mm F2 which I hope to collect very soon.
Well I am sure I will update you all here soon but for now thats it, apart of course for a picture of my new toys, opps I mean tools !
